Day 01: Kicking Off My #90DaysOfDevOps Journey 🚀

Today marks the beginning of my #90DaysOfDevOps challenge, and I couldn't be more excited! Over the next three months, I'll be diving deep into various DevOps concepts, tools, and practices, sharing my learnings and experiences along the way.

Lecture Overview

I completed my 2nd lecture of the DevOps Zero to Hero batch-8 on TrainWithShubham, led by Shubham Londhe. Here’s a summary of what I learned today:

  1. Revising Linux Fundamentals 🖥️

    • I brushed up on my Linux basics, reinforcing my understanding of this critical operating system.
  2. Linux Architecture

    • I learned about the key components of Linux architecture, summarized as A-Application, S-Shell, K-Kernel.
  3. What, Why, and How of Linux:

    • What is Linux?
Linux is an operating system created by Linus Torvalds, originally based on UNIX.

    • Why am I learning this?
Linux is faster and more secure than Windows, making it the OS of choice for many industries.

    • How can I become proficient?

      • By mastering Linux commands

      • Familiarizing myself with the Linux environment

      • Learning shell scripting

      • Staying consistent

      • Maintaining my passion and curiosity (Junoon!)

  4. Nginx Installation

    • I successfully installed Nginx on my Ubuntu machine and viewed the Nginx welcome page via the public IP of my EC2 instance.

Highlights

  • Image 2: Eagerly waiting for the SNS session on sending bulk emails through AWS—this will definitely help with my college project! 📷

  • Image 3: Successfully installed Nginx and accessed the welcome page 📷

  • Image 4: Modified the Nginx welcome page using ChatGPT. Hoping Shubham Londhe likes it! 📷

Conclusion

This first day has been amazing, and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead in this journey. I'll be documenting my progress daily, sharing challenges, victories, and learnings. Let’s see where this takes me!
